The mission of Worn with Luv is to specialize in the buying and selling of high-quality, gently used or new children's clothing, maternity clothing, children's furniture, strollers, toys, books, shoes, videos, etc. We will provide the community an opportunity to recycle usable goods by accepting quality goods and offering said goods at affordable prices in a consignment structure. Worn with Luv will also provide employment and volunteer opportunities for members of the Carrol County community.
Worn with Luv was created with the family’s needs in mind. In today’s economy, families are not only feeling the need to make a few extra dollars, but also to buy good quality clothing and toys at discounted prices.
It is important for Worn with Luv to be a place where customers and their children can come and shop in a pleasant, family-friendly environment. The quality of the products being sold will be acceptable in my own home, in front of my own child, or on my child’s body. If a customer is not satisfied with a purchase, Worn with Luv will gladly do everything it can to give the customer complete satisfaction. “The customer is always right” is a motto that will guide the policies of Worn with Luv.
In 2005, I decided that opening a children's consignment boutique was in my future. As a single mother and full-time teacher, I didn't know how I was going to accomplish this dream. After completing a Bachelor's degree and two Master's degrees and working teaching middle school students for 13 years, I decided it was time to live my dream. With the love and support of family and friends, Worn with Luv opened its doors on December 1st, 2009.
Since we opened the doors, it has been a wonderful journey. I love coming to work everyday and that has always been one of my goals. Since I am a single parent and part-time teacher still, there have been times where I have had to close unexpectedly without a lot of notice. I have changed my hours a few times since I opened to meet the needs of both my schedule and the needs of the current customers. When I first opened, I was a 7 day a week business. I knew and told people as they talked to me that I was waiting to feel out the business before I decided which two days to close. In May, we dropped to 5 days a week and the two days we are closed are Monday and Tuesday. While I know this is inconvenient for some, I am sorry as it was what worked for the business and my family.
As Worn with LUV has continued to grow, we have hired. Christina joined the team on December 15, 2010. She has been a wonderful addition to the mix and a knowledgeble member of the staff as she has a toddler at home. With the addition of help in the store, we brought the store online in April 2010 and all of our toys and accessories are now available for buisness online as well as in the store. With the growing demand for natural options and cloth diapers in our community, we added two lines of cloth diapers in April 2010. We currently carry both FuzziBunz and gDiapers and will add more as we see what the public needs request.
